Social Services has programs and services designed to help residents in financial need who meet income-eligbility requirements, as well as resources to provide food assistance for Baltimore County families.
Food Assistance Resources:
Senior Food Assistance: Seniors experiencing food access needs may call 410-887-2594 or email aginginfo@baltimorecountymd,gov.
Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) Food and Nutrition Service: Learn more about the food assistance programs offered through BCPS.
SNAP Emergency Allotments: The Maryland Department of Human Services has been approved to issue SNAP emergency allotments to all current SNAP households. Learn more about SNAP to see if you qualify for monthly benefits to help purchase food.
Pet Food Assistance: Learn how to receive pet food assistance from the Baltimore Humane Society or make donations to their Bmore Kind Pet Food Bank.

Financial Assistance:
Apply for benefits at a District Office: Please be advised that paperwork will be required for application processing.
Child Support Program: Provides help in accessing financial support from a chlid's parent.
Emergency Assistance: Is availble to families with a child who are facing a financial emergency. Examples include eviction and utility turn-off.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: (SNAP) provides monthly benefits to families and individuals who need assistance in buying food.
Housing Office Assistance: Helps eligible low-incomw families, elderly and disable persons pay their rent.
Maryland Energy Assistance Program: (Home Energy Programs) Provides assistance with home heating bills.
Medical Assistance: Provives medical coverage to eligible individuals and families.
Temporary Cash Assistance: (TCA) Provides cash assistance to families with children under 18 years of age when other resources and services do not fully meet the family's needs.
Temporary Disability Assistance Program: Provides temporary cash assistance to disable adults between 18 and 64 years who have no children under the age of 18 in the home.

We must be able to comfrim that you qualify for help. As many of our programs have their own eligibility criteria and, thus, their own paperwork requriements. We suggest that you contact the Department of Social Services prior to visting.
